"Soon after the Roman hamlet of Borgo Sarchiani on the provincial road, you see on the left a majestic old villa which has preserved all its antique grandeur and is surrounded by a gracefully beautiful garden. This villa (…) originally belonged to the Ridofi, who acquired it from the Fedini family. As they had owned it for many years they gave it the name it still bears today - "Palazzo del Fedino". The family descended from a Feo of Dino and in the Republican period many family members held distinguished and responsible positions in office. They were Palatine Counts after Emperor Giovanni Paleologo conferred the title on Brancazio di Michele who was one of the priors at the time of the Council of Florence.Niccolò di Bernardo Fedini bought this palace in 1581 from Roberto di Ottaviano Acciajuoli, who just a few years earlier in 1577, had purchased it from Lucrezia, the wife of Leonardo de'Nobili. It had been sold to Lucrezia in 1535 by Agnolo di Marco Baroncelli, and this extremely rich and eminent family figures as the ancient owner of the villa, also known as the Palazzo di Baccano or the Palazzo di Borgiano." (from G. Carocci).

The property passed into the hands of the Ridolfi and then to the Mancini family.During this period Gabriele D'Annunzio was a frequent visitor. The Palazzo del Fedini was acquired at the beginning of the 20th century by the Burroni family and soon afterwards it was bought by Gustavo Checcucci. His descendants are the current owners and they manage the restaurant situated in the cellars.
